Facebook and Twitter have become more prevalent in the political world as candidates, parties, and elected officials look to reach potential voters and every other possible communication medium. The use of these tools are beneficial to candidates in offering politicians the ability to post lighting-fast responses to bad press and allows them to share links and pictures to campaigns or other official duties.
Social Media Optimization can also be used against the candidates. This is happening in Idaho’s first congressional district Republican primary contest between Vaughn ward, a Marin reservist, and state rep. Raul Labrador, R-eagle.
Many times in political campaigns, volunteers or even high-level staff will use social media outlets and blogs to tear down the opposing candidate, for Trail he says, “I do not speak for the campaign. I speak for myself and on my own free will.”
Social Media is a great tool. But are campaigns just about finding dirt on the opposing candidate and posting it on Facebook or Twitter, more than the views on what should be changed for the best? Social media is suppose to help businesses, keep in touch with friends and family members, get your work out there, over all it is suppose to be a fun experience. Where did that go and how far are people willing to go on social media. Will Social media be the downfall of everyone? That for you to decide!

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were preparing to do some research about social media. We got a good book on that matter from our local library and most books where not as influential as your information. I am very glad to see such information which I was searching for a long time.
I will add this blog to my favorites, it is great.
