Yahoo has exposed they are to issue a new guide for the Internet, with the plan of improving website content. The Guide is the eventual Sourcebook for Writing, Editing, and Creating Content for the Digital World.
The publication is edited by senior editorial director at Yahoo, Chris Barr, and will be released in July 2010. The basic idea of this style guide is to offer directions to content writers, editors and web designers on subjects like, Identifying and writing for a target audience, Making content accessible and easy to read, ect.
Yahoo has compiled years of proficiency and knowledge. Publishing company St. Martin’s Press hopes that the book will work as an inclusive guide to writing. Helping to improve precision and accuracy within content writing.
Most business experts are enthusiastically anticipating the release of the Yahoo style guide.

It’s surprising that yahoo would publish a style guide when it doesn’t require its own writers and editors to use one. Every day they produce some of the most egregious errors on the Web — misspellings, grammatical and punctuation mistakes, factual errors, and some utter non-English. They can’t even figure out if it’s “website” or “Web site” or “web site” or something else. Save your money and use any of a number of resources from credible sources. This style guide is a joke.
