A lot of people talk about Social Media building, but when they do, the main thing they talk about is their goals. It should really be about the strategy.
Strategy may be the only misunderstood term in the business. Why, because all business experts have his or her own definition of social media communications. Supporting the business is communication strategies, by this you can communicate to various messages to various customer of a company.
So the Social Media strategy for marketing is a separation for the communication. So what are these strategies missing? They are missing the organization alignment with the whole strategy. It should support the business strategy, which is not in full alignment to begin with. Because these strategies are not aligned they are not being very effective.
We all are not perfect but it helps to start by understanding the overall business strategy, and making sure you are aligned to that not our own goals.
