Measuring SEO Results

When you are reading to start a SEO project your number 1 priority should be to outline your business intentions. What do you want to do? What are you looking to progress?

After you have come up with your SEO project intentions you can then start a basic plan of how to accomplish that goal. It is just like a spider web you would draw when writing a story. You have the main event and then tiny bubbles that make the main event happen. Now that you know your intentions and the way to make them happen it is time to set that plan in motion. This can be done through many different methods, some are good others not so good.

Measuring SEO results through non-branded search traffic is one of the best ways because it focuses on daily visitors. When measuring SEO results it becomes an important routine to count out branded search traffic. However, through this measurement you could get irrelevant traffic to your website which will not help with you get added conversions, this should be counted separately.

The need to measure conversions is very important because this will show your business converting through search traffic. This is usually done by the selling of a product, “contact us” submissions, widget downloads, marked visitors to a website, whitepaper or completed applications.

Visitor engagement is a good way to measure SEO results and this can be down through page views per visitor, bounce rate, or time on site. When it comes to these factors a drop in time on a site of page views could mean that a website is losing traffic.

Although ranking reports is not a popular choice it is a choice when it comes to measuring SEO results. There are many programs online to help your rank your ratings however these abrade search engine results which is against search engines terms of service. This type of measurement of SEO results can also be unreliable and is mainly used for rankings that tend to be based on high volume conditions.

Typically people who own websites want to know how many links they will pick up monthly and most of the time the answer becomes, “How many do you want?”

You can always pick up links but what really matters if the value of the links. One link can be of little value while other links can be tons better than other links. Therefore, it is not about quantity it is more about quality.

So there it is in black and white. There are several good choices to use when measuring your SEO results while others would not be a very good choice. These are just a few measuring SEO results however and there are many more to choose from that could be perfect for your own website.

However measuring through non-branding, visitor engagement and measuring conversions are typically the best way to measure SEO results, therefore no matter how you measure and what mix you use make sure those three are in there somewhere.

The writer of blog.futureranking.com has written a superior article. I got your point and there is nothing to argue about. No matter how much it pranced under your nose, wearing nothing but underwear and sticking a banana in its ear, to get your attention. I will be back.
