Google + is the new social networking platform from Google. According to Google, “it aims to make sharing on the web more like sharing in real life.”
Here are three things to consider when deciding to use Google + to drive traffic:
A. People
Based on initial reports, Google + is the fastest growing social network because its powered by the people. According to comScore, Google + had 20 million unique visitors on June 22.
If the growth rate continues, then there’s a chance the people you’re trying to target will be on Google +. Therefore, you should join Google +!
B. Sharing
Google+ was built as a content sharing platform. Unlike Facebook and Twitter, Google + has solved the inherent privacy and “over-sharing” issues that has caused Facebook problems. This solution is Google Circles. Circles are what Google + calls the various groups that you can organize your friends into. Once you’ve got them set up and populated, you can then pick which circles get to see what you share.
Google + also provides a rich multimedia and discussion environment to which Twitter’s 140 character limit can’t compete with. Content markets have every incentive to utilize Google + since Google knows content sharing helps drive various social networks.
C. SEO
Originally, Google’s search engine ranked content with links higher compared to content with fewer links. With the emergence of Facebook and Twitter, the Google algorithm has evolved to including sharing as a way to rank.
Google now has its own content sharing platform that provides direct access to “the voice of the people” when it comes to quality content. Building an audience on Google + may be the smartest thing to help share your blog or website and get improved search rankings.

What you were talking about in B. Sharing – This feature is awesome! It’s definitely one of the most attractive features with Google+ because you can actually choose WHO can view the information/pictures you’re posting based off of your “circles”.
Looking forward to seeing where Google+ will go, who knows… It may be the next Facebook.
I have been hearing a lot that Google is making social media a priority to compete with Facebook. I’m excited for our customers.
Very useful info on how Google technology can enhance popular social networks like Facebook. I really do learn something new about technological innovations and the expansion and enhancements these bring to all of our personal life experiences
Its almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.
